Where It All Began

I was brought up in rural Southland, New Zealand. I learnt how to steer a Holden Rodeo out in a wide open paddock when I was 4 years old on my Daddy's knee. Growing up, I spent my summers in the woolshed where I would help my Mum with the rousing and feeding the Shearers. I was exposed to Rock 'n' Roll from an early age on road trips and car runs in Dads old 1963 Ford Fairlane. We would all be singing and seat dancing to The Eagles, Pat Benatar, and Meat Loaf. Being a farming family, we had to be spontaneous because nothing ever went to plan.
When my primary school teacher came to me and asked me to join the school choir at the age of 6, I had no idea that this would start an incredible burning desire to be up on a stage singing songs that I wrote.
My Nana entered me into a Country Music Club Talent Quest when I was 10 and I won the Junior section with I'm Not Pretty Enough by Kasey Chambers. This began the new adventure of Country Music (Thanks, Nana)!
High School brought even more adventures, including songwriting and learning to play the guitar. My Mum always talks of how I would walk around the house trying to play Taylor Swift songs, but I just couldn't get the strummy down until one day it just clicked!
After heartbreak, learning to appreciate what I had, and leaving home; I wrote 7 songs that would make it to my debut EP which was all recorded in my good friend Simon Galt's Man Cave Studios in Drummond, Southland.
And this is just the beginning!
I can't wait to share the next part of this adventure with you all!

Love,
